Hidden & Dangerous 2 Sabre Squadron

coop marathon

PAGE UPDATED: 21.2.2010
MARATHON STARTED: 4.12.2007
MARATHON COMPLETED: 4.3.2008

To play you need

Hidden & Dangerous 2 + Hidden & Dangerous 2 Sabre Squadron
or
Hidden & Dangerous 2 Courage Under Fire

H&D2 Courage Under Fire = H&D2 + H&D2SS packaged inside same cardboard (but it is cheaper to buy it than both separately).

Click pictures below to see list from where to buy them

We play tuesday nights european time with servername HanzuGameSociety

Our mission is to complete all 9 coop missions with VERY HARD DIFFICULTY, with NO-RESPAWN and with NO CHEATS
so if you want to join this really challenging campaign you need more patience more than skill.

Everyone who accept these rules are welcome:

No voting allowed for anything. You start voting = you will get kicked.

Sever settings will stay as they are!

Admin will change map only after mission is successfully completed!

Once you die in game WAIT for the round to end and DO NOT DISCONNECT and RECONNECT.
We want to keep statistics of total kills and if someone disconnects, total kills will go fake.

Restart command is not used, because it will not reaload the map and reset player kills and deaths to zero.

If you still want to join after reading these contact me at
and I will give you the current server password.

If a player keeps breaking these rules, he will be kicked and password will be changed.

We also use TeamSpeak for communication.

CHARACTER STATS

Health:
This is the amount of health your soldier will have.
This is the only stat that will not be increased after each mission in single player career.
High maximum health character can survive enemy rifle shot when low maximum health character would die to the same one shot!
Personally I consider this stat the most important stat.

Strength:
This determines how much equipment your soldier can carry.
Not so important stat, because you can always pick up more equipment.

Endurance:
The endurance is your how fast your stamina meter will drop and how many hits you can take. This also affects your aiming abilities in a good way.

Shooting:
This determines how accurate characters will be with their weapons.

Stealth:
This determines how quiet your soldier can be and if they can sneak up on enemies. It also affects how fast your stealth bar goes down when wearing an enemy uniform.

First aid:
This determines how good your soldier is at administrating first aid.
Example: Herbert (Doc) Bennett with 85 first aid can restore someones full health with using less medikits resource.
Example: Robert Czakowski with 10 first aid can restore someones full health only with multiple tries and using more medikit(s).
Singleplayer tip: try to store as many medikits as possible to one character with best first aid and use him to heal others. Otherwise AI controlled characters will use first aid with their own initiative and waste a lot of first aid resources.

Lock picking:
This determines how a soldier is at unlocking door.
Personally I consider this stat the least important stat, because you have always your teammates covering you when you lock-pick, so it does not matter how many seconds you spend on it.

There are 30 soldiers to choose from. Following table demostrates the wide skill differencies among soldiers.

HANZU'S PERSONAL OPINIONS
The best designed H&D2SS mission
Burgundy1, because no bugs found
The worst designed H&D2SS mission Burgundy3, because of some bad bugs
The hardest H&D2SS mission Libya3, because of more than 100 enemies including snipers, AA-gun truck, 2 halftrucks, 3 tanks, major enemy attack and 8 objectives.
The easiest H&D2SS mission Burgundy1, because of about 50 enemies, no enemy spawns, no enemy attacks from behind and no enemy armored vehicles
The most puzzle-like H&D2SS mission Brest because of SD weapons required, multiple items to carry, multiple objectives, key to a locked door, levers and enemy spawns on unopenable doors.
The best looking H&D2SS mission Libya2, because of sun flare effect, beautiful sky and colorful enviroment.
The ugliest looking H&D2SS mission Brest, because of ugly buildings, rain and lack of color.

THINGS NOT MENTIONED IN THE MANUAL

  • Objectives can be completed in any order in all missions!
  • Ammo clips dropped and rolling downhill for too long will disappear.
  • Explosion will destroy weapons that you have dropped.
  • Anti-tank mines are visible when set.
  • Anti-personnel mines are invisible when set.
  • It is safe to walk over anti-personnel mines, if you have set them yourself.
  • It is deadly to walk over anti-personnel mines, if somebody else has set them.
  • Tanks are never driveable, but you can use their weapons.
  • Halftrucks are never driveable.
  • PaK 40 cannons are always usable.
  • 0-9 kills = Private
  • 10-19 kills = Corporal
  • 20-29 kills = Sergeant
  • 30-39 kills = Staff Sergeant
  • 40-49 kills = Second Lieutenant
  • 50-59 kills = Lieutenant
  • 60-69 kills = Captain
  • 70-79 kills = Major
  • In Libya3 AA-truck can sometimes be used to block a guardhouse door or route of enemy halftrucks
  • In Sicily1 some enemies spawn to disarm dynamites you have set earlier. So you have to do those objectives twice.
  • In Sicily2 it is possible to climb over roofs of some buildings
